SendAfrica ID Policy

Requirements for registering, using, and maintaining alphanumeric sender IDs on the platform.

Last updated · January 2026

01What is a sender ID?

An alphanumeric label (up to 11 characters) that appears as the sender of an SMS on the recipient's device — for example, your brand name instead of a phone number.

02Registration

Sender IDs must be registered from the dashboard. We may request proof of trademark, business registration, or letter of authorization before approval.

03Country rules

Requirements vary by country and carrier. Some countries require government pre-registration; others require dynamic sender IDs for certain verticals. Details appear inline during registration.

04Approved use

Sender IDs may only be used by the entity that registered them, for the traffic type approved (transactional, OTP, or marketing).

05Impersonation

Impersonation of banks, government, or third-party brands is grounds for immediate revocation, suspension of your account, and reporting to authorities.

06Revocation

We may revoke a sender ID for policy violations, complaints from carriers, or requests from the trademark holder.
